Blanton Museum of Art is recognized as one of the leading university art museums in the country. It's permanent collection spans the history of Western civilization with approximately 17,000 works of fine art from all over the world. The new building scheduled for completion in 2006, is located at at the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Congress Avenue. The new Blanton Museum will provide state-of-the-art spaces for exhibitions, teaching, and research, making the it the premiere exhibition space for the UT campus and a cornerstone of the arts renaissance taking place in Central Texas. Currently the Museum is located in the Art Building at 23rd and San Jacinto on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin. Hourly parking is available at 24th and San Jacinto.
