Texas Memorial Museum is a natural science center whose mission is ?To encourage awareness and appreciation of the interplay of the biological, geological and environmental forces as they have shaped, are shaping and will shape our world."  The Museum is home to the remains of the Texas Pterosaur, the largest flying creature ever found.  It is more than 65 million years old, with a 40-foot wingspan.   A 75 million years old 13-foot long fossil fish from Collin County, Texas is displayed on the Museum?s first floor.  Exhibits are based on the Museum?s more than 5 million specimens, primarily collected and researched by UT scientists and students.

Each year, the Museum hosts Austin Science Fun Day, drawing 5,000 children and adults per year.  The popular science fair teams K-12 schoolchildren with local science professionals to demonstrate experiments and display projects.

The Museum offers free admission seven days a week.
