University of Texas at Austin has one of the largest student bodies in the world and is the largest public university in the nation.  It is home to numerous libraries, museums, and research centers.  The university has consistently ranked among the top 10 research libraries in the nation.  On campus you will find the Lyndon Baines Johnson Libary and Museum, the Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art, the UTPAC Bass Concert Hall, McCullough Theatre, and the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center.  UT is also home to Big Bertha - considered the world's largest drum used by the UT Longhorn Band drum wranglers.

In fall 2002, Sports Illustrated magazine named The University of Texas at Austin No. 1 among the nation’s 324 Division I athletic programs.  The University of Texas at Austin is a member of the NCAA and the Big 12 Conference.   UT is home to the Texas Longhorns.   Sports facilities include Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium (football), Frank Erwin Special Events Center (basketball), Disch-Falk Field (baseball), Mike A.Myers Stadium (soccer), Red and Charline McCombs Field (softball), Gregory Gymnasium (volleyball), Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center, Penick-Allison Tennis Center, and the Texas Rowing Center.
